Red Velvet Cookies
12-15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 234g or 1 ¾ cups Blossom baking flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1½ teaspoon red food color or 1 tablespoon liquid food coloring
- 25g or ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 125g or 8 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 90g or ½ cup brown sugar
- 100g or ½ cup white sugar
- 1t vanilla
- 1 large egg
- 250g or 1½ cups white chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a bowl add the white sugar, brown sugar, and butter and mix with a wooden spoon or hand mixer until well combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla then mix. {if using liquid food color add it at this point}.
- Sift in the flour, baking powder, and red food powder.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix until combined.
- Scoop spoonsful of the dough and roll into balls, place on a tray lined with parchment paper and flattened them a bit.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes at 180C.
- Remove them from the oven and leave them on the tray for 5-10 minutes to firm up before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool
completely.
